February 10, 1945 - Brief Training Flight

From the Operations Record Book:  

The Squadron was called upon to supply 18 aircraft and crews for operations, The crews were briefed at 14.15 hrs after which they proceeded to their respective aircraft. Their take-off was at first postponed for one hour and at approximately 16.00 hrs the operation was cancelled. The rest of the the day was devoted to flying training totalling more than 30 hrs flying.

The Harris crew - Ditson, Harris, Hicks, Kelleher, Nicol, Smith and Yemen - would have one more short training flight on February 10th, a 3-hour night flight.  

Although Harris and Ditson had already completed their first live operations, the rest of the crew would experience their first live operation three days later.
