In March 1945, the daily food rations at Dulag Luft consisted of:

Sugar - 25 g
Butter - 25 g
Coffee - 5 g
Salt - 20 g
Margarine - 31 g
Potatoes - 320 g
Bread - 75 g
Rather than the quality espresso grounds shown here, the prisoners were given coffee of the ersatz variety, made of roasted rice, roasted peas, and/or roasted chicory.
The balance of the prisoners’ food was made up by Red Cross parcels. Prior to March 1945, prisoners were allotted one Red Cross package per week - 90% of the parcels received by the camp were given to the American-operated kitchen to improve the meagre German rations.
